i am a sucker for a good basic creme polish: i love an opaque black, white or classic red. in this post, i explore my personal collection and let you know which black (in my helmer) can be declared, the "best of the basics: black addition." i love black! i don't own too many opaque black cremes because i have really loved "cursed" by blackheart beauty. but i have never "put it to the test." let's see how all of my black cremes compare! the battle begins! "cursed" by blackheart beauty, available at hot topic stores "liquid vinyl" by orly, from the 2012 collection "black sheep" by julieg nail color disclaimer: please note, the above polishes are not considered the absolute best black cremes on the market. these are the merely the ones i personally own. many collectors and youtubers have spoken highly about "willa" by zoya, "absence" by pretty serious, and "memento mori" by cirque. see below for a link to simply nailogical's video on her search for the best black creme.
winner and still champ: "cursed" by blackheart beauty! available at hot topic stores, this polish is a total bargain at $5 (on a constant 2 for 1 sale in store). not quite a one-coater, the application is darn close. i think you could try the "cap-off" trick for 10-20 minutes, to get a slighter thicker formula. this will probably result in one-coat and done! see below for a video where a very famous youtuber finds her favorite black creme polish.
