this month is all about transition. here are some polishes that marked my journey toward more sun-filled days and warmer nights. b-t-dubs, my march came in like a lion, but went out like a sorrowful, yet determined lamb. some of these polishes will be featured in the long-awaited, forthcoming, "top picks for spring," (hopefully) going up next week. "cheshire china" sinful colors porcelain matte collection I love this color as spring is springing. it does dry to a light matte finish, but i always wear it with top coat for optimal shine. it is a very light periwinkle purple ... it is pale, opaque and perfect! "be there in a prosecco" by opi from the 2015 fall venice collection this light opaque nude-y creme is very similar to "my vampire is buff" and "you're so vain-illa" also by opi ... but i don't care! I'll wear this egg-shell nude any place! you probably do not need all three in your collection ... unless you're me! "do you lilac it?" opi my husband bought this for me a few weeks ago when i was under the weather. i had often seen this color, but never taken the plunge. i love this creme! so soft yet fun. way to go, hubs! "this cost me a mint" by opi with "rendezvous" by sinful color sinful shine gel tech i wore this manicure for saint patrick's day mid-month. i love the subtle soft greens. "this cost me a mint" i have in mini form from the holiday "breakfast at tiffany's mini mani month" box. and the "rendezvous" i've had forever. i really enjoyed both cremes. they both appear a little dusty, but were easy to wear and easy to apply. "kiss goodnight" sinful colors sinful shine from the kandee johnson collection (featured here with "strawberry milk" by sinful colors) i liked the split creme mani so much, that i tried it again! i really loved the purple leaning baby blue with shimmer. i think it is really special and goes on like an iridescent dream. "strawberry milk" is a fine pale pink (dries matte, but i've added top coat here), but i have other pale pinks in my collection that i prefer. "noah" by zoya from the 2016 fall "urban grunge" collection this is not my swatch. please see "the shades of u" for a great review of this whole collection. (i forgot to snap my swatch pic ... just getting over strep throat, sadly). this has been reviewed as a one-coat opaque creme, and it really was! i was hoping for more of a true nude on my skin-tone, but it leans too dark on my olive skin. but it is certainly the formula to reach for the next time i need a great slightly deep neutral. "cathy" a-england from the bronte collection
i got this a-england polish last year for my birthday and I have been looking for the right time to wear it again! a very light greyish purple with subtle holo shimmer! the shimmer is hidden unless in direct sunlight, but even without seeing that magic, this is still a great looking polish. sorry the swatch pic is kind of shite! (the bubbles on my pointer nail are from my "too thick" top coat). so those are all of my favorites from this month. i hope that you enjoyed a polish-rich march! here is wishing you an even more sparkly and vibrant april! as always, i'd love to hear about what you've been wearing this month. let me know in the comments.
