happy march 2017! have you abandoned your resolutions yet? i have! lets celebrate with some nail polish and accessories! "Secret Peri-wink-le " china glaze 2008 fall, Operation: Colour collection this blue is sneaky like its name. i wore this on my fingers and toes and found it to be an easy formula and i fell more in love with the look the longer i wore it. "Oh my majesty!" opi from the spring 2016 alice through the looking glass collection. i raved about this and told my mini to marvelous tale in the last blog post. i will say here that this polish looks like a pearl on the nail. in two coats it is very unique and striking. unfortunately, my photo does not capture this magic. "blu" zoya from the spring 2013 lovely collection this palest blue is so sweet how would you not want to wear it over and over again. "devious" sinful colors sinful shine i wore this classic red creme for valentine's day. it is one of my favorite reds and a very long-time darling. "showered with petals" opi from the january 2016 hello kitty collectiom i own a lot of opaque white creme polishes. this stood out to me this month. like most stark whites, it does take 2-3 coats, but the formula was easier to work with than most and was no way chalky. "mint" blackheart beauty i have tirelessly raved about this polish for almost an entire year. there is something unexpected about its effect as a pastel neon creme. this was in my favs for 2016 and i predict that i shall wear it all 2017-long. formula x base and top trio or the system Image from: https://badbeautybabes.com/tag/formula-x/ i picked up this magic trio for $4.50 at tj maxx and it has extremely changed my game. i do not know how i got so lucky bc this is hard to find and yet absolutely amazing. so march is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb. in my world, it will come in like a sleepy cat and go out like a cat that is fully napping.

i have a list of new polishes to get through, but i am craving some polishes in my collection that i've only worn once or twice. it's springish, but not quite spring in my part of the world now: my fancy has turned to non-traditional neutrals, dingy whites & very pale blues in my collection. lets jump right in! "tickle my france-y" by opi this neutral pinky creme is often counted amongst manys' top opi polishes. i can see why. i admit, i was a bit bored by it, but it was easy to apply and easy to wear. i even got a compliment on it! "golden turmeric" h&m polishes this mustard creme is actually quite the avant garde neutral on the nail with a yellow leaning skin tone. "i'm soar't of a big deal" by glitterdaze lacquer this pale gray creme is indeed one-coat! the color is as charming as the formula is wonderful. "blu" by zoya this pale blue creme was a bit more difficult to apply than i remember, but i loved the results. so on trend, yet wearable, i loved it and will wear it all summer long! "urban jungle" essie my memory of urban jungle was better than this recent experience. it was streakier and harder to apply than memory served, and it creates bubbles on the nail so badly, there was no winning. there is, however, something unique about this color. i am currently searching for a dupe and starting with h&m's nail line. if their light colors are half as good as the others i've picked up, i'll have found my holy grail. "oh my majesty!" by opi
my photo cannot capture the pearly without being frosty look of this white slightly iridescent creme. i had a mini version of this polish in mid-2016 and de-stashed bc the formula was a mess. then, many youtubers i follow included it on their "best of" lists for 2016. after some comment-chat someone revealed to me that the full-sized bottles were terrific and the minis for some reason got some bad formulas. i picked this up last week and immediately tried it. i loved the results! this was one of my favs this week. coming soon: my favs for february! thanks for reading! happy lovey-dovey time of year! in my part of the world, spring has sprung a touch early, so my fancy turns to pastels, neons, and slightly dingy whites. but we have a single stop-gap before we can come down the mountain of grim grey winter: a time when blood red boxes boast gooey nuggets, small heart shaped pieces of chalk are distributed and eaten by the pound, and commercials promoting tacky jewerly run day and night to encourage those men with more money than taste. below, ive compiled a list polishes for all of your celebratory or anti-romantic needs. (this list of catagories was stolen from a youtube collab of some of my fav nail peeps). so grab your lover by the chocolate covered nuts and make sure your paws are flawless ... or at least theme appropriate. first, a nice pink: "come hither" sinful colors sinful shine gel tech this list includes a total of 3 sinful color sinful shine gel tech. for $2.99 a bottle, these colors and formulas are something special that you can pick up at the drugstore. this hottish pink is one-coat and done in fact. pinks are not my typical thing, but i do don this look whenever i am inspired by miss piggy. next, a blush baby-type pink: "blushing crystal" mineral fushion nail polish this peachy pale pink is so sweet and flattering. available at wholefoods, this quality polish that is also vegan and 5-free. i really want to pick up more of this brand. for a subtle, but classy valentine's times, this is the polish for you. now, a vampy red: "mirror mirror" sinful colors sinful shine gel tech vamp it up with this jelly/crelly wine colored beauty. i sought out this polish as i heard it was an exact dupe for chanel's famous "rouge noir." it's a great staple to own anytime of year and the formula is easy to work with. next, a date-night polish: "i'm not really a waitress" opi i have raved about this polish a lot in the past month. this vampy and rich color is perfect to wear whilst you eat an overpriced meal in a crowded restaurant on a tuesday. next, a classic bright red: "devious" sinful colors sinful shine gel tech this jelly-like red creme is a dream to apply. it remains as one of the very best formulas in my collection and the best of my classic red cremes. if you spot this at walgreens or some such place, you must buy it! this polish marked the beginning of my collecting. it will change your life. now, a singles day polish: "space race" h&m nail polish so apparently, "singles awareness day" is a thing ... february 15. the name makes the act and choice of being single sound like a disease or condition like OCD or diabettes ... but, the overall sentiment i can totally get on board with. this holographic stunner is available at h&m. i believe the retailer has just restocked for spring, because i was able to track this previously mythical polish down at my local store front. its a great girls night out polish. by the way, i totally recommend h&m polishes. great color range and i have yet to hear a bad word about formula. now, an "anti" valentine's polish: "blu" zoya professional lacquer i dont know if everyone would deem this pale blue creme polish "anti" valentine's, but it gets you out of the reds and pink shades. i think this shade beckons spring and will declare your independence of the season. finally, a bridal shade: "godiva" zoya pixie dust lacquer
this nude glitter textured polish will make any woman feel like a goddess. the subtle gold and silver glitter is a classy way to show off your paws as a wedding guest, member of the bridal party, or the main attraction herself. lovely on lots of skin tones and gorgeous with ivory or champange dresses, godiva is the most underrated of the famous pixie dust line. what are you wearing this valentine's day season? happy hunting or snuggling or not-giving-a-shit my friends! thank you for reading. this month was a blurry mess. only my record of amazing polishes kept my head on straight. let`s jump right in! "baby blue" forever 21 nail color this pale blue leans a little dusty turquoise. at first, not the best formula, but the second coat evens out like a dream. picked this up for $1.99 a year ago and for the price, it does not disappoint. "frostbite" china glaze i picked up this china glaze mini at ulta right after the new year. this shade has a marvelous reputation and for good reason: its a demi-metallic with a lot of depth and applies with no brush strokes. i am now on the hunt for more polishes like this! "white russian" nyx nail polish from my spanish haul, this polish looks so urban and stylish. the formula is not the best i've tried, but the result on the nail makes the mini-frustrations during application totally worth the effort. i love the warm undertone: so flattering. "cherrry clafoutis" astor quick & shine this has, hands down, the best formula i have ever tried. it is a brick red that is unique in my collection. i wore this on my hands and toes this month and the wear is also very good. again, i wish i had purchased more of this brand in spain. "i klove you" sinful color trend matters "demi-matte" i picked this up at dollar tree in the improbable hunt that resulted in 2 OPIs and some 2016 sinful colors. this was from one of the several kylie jenner sinful colors collections that came out spring and summer of 2016. i loved this polish so much more than i had anticipated. it was remarkably easy to apply, very flattering, and hardworking: i wore it for a solid week and it only chipped on the final day after several hours of physical work. the polish is brownish gold with warm gold shimmer. "i'm not really a waitress" OPI from the 1999 hollywood collection like "frostbite" this is like a demi-metallic with no detactable brush strokes. the red and gold shimmer gives this deep red polish so much shine and luster. this might be the oldest polish in my collection and it is still the most popular color from OPI: the company's best selling color. "my private jet" OPI from the 2007 night brites collection
i also found this at a dollar tree store, unbelievably. i had always heard about the original formula of this polish. i am pretty sure i was not lucky enough to find the original formula, but none the less, this polish is lovely. so deep and rich and interesting. there is some holographic glitter and gold shimmer. so, those are my favorites from this month. these were not all of the polishes that i wore this month, but were the standouts for sure. hope that your january was fantastic and that your february will be outstanding! thank you for reading! |
