since 2013, i have been collecting sinfulcolors and sinfulshine (with gel-tech) polishes. sinfulcolors is a drugstore nail polish brand that retails for $1.99-$3.99. there are a select few places to buy these polishes online (ebay, amazon, target, etc.), but these polishes are found more readily off-line at brick-and-mortar retailers. no sales on the official sinfulcolors website. sinfulcolors was founded in 1991 in the u.s., and was acquired by revlon in 2011. the company's goal is keep polishes affordable. the polishes are made in america, but costs are kept low by use of huge batches of 3-free polishes. because sinfulcolors is owned by revlon, they sell to china, which means they are not cruelty-free (foreign companies are required to test on animals in order to ship to the chinese market ... which is ridiculous). i was attracted to sinfulcolors initially because of affordability. i quickly learned that this discount brand had a consistent quality, better than others in their price-point, and sometimes better than competing salon-brands that are 5x the price. when i became serious about collecting, i was disappointed that i could not order sinfulcolors easily online (no official retail site). but i learned to enjoy the hunt. here are my favorites: some are older, some are hard to find, and some are available right now at a walmart near you! "unicorn" #953 this pale pale yellow creme is adeptly named. for many years, one could not see a shade this unique. now, i'm finally seeing dupes, or near-dupes, from other brands. the formula's not good, not horrible, and better than most yellow cremes in my collection. i recommend it. "wisp" #1225 (sinfulshine) if you are familiar with this brand, you may wonder why my sinfulshine polishes do not say "step one" on them. i bought many before the company promoted the top coat with the sinfulshine polishes. i still do not own the top coat. its a gentle scam. i also don't own the sally hansen miracle gel top coat. don't tell me what to do. this white creme is pretty good. i've used most of my bottle. "devious" #1230 (sinfulshine) classic red? don't mind if i do. good formula and a great option for a deep apple red. good application. "rebel" #1234 (sinfulshine) a dusty milk chocolate, this creme is amazing. an almost one-coat neutral, i really appreciate the easy application and flattering tone. "rendezvous" #1238 (sinfulshine) this dusty turquoise creme is currently on a "re-promote" at walgreens throughout the u.s. i highly recommend checking it out. great in two coats. "bright lucite" #1411 this pale blue creme is an old favorite. a great formula for a pastel and very wearable. "blue la la" #1433 this amazing slightly dusty blue polish is difficult to find (or at least, it was for me). it is a favorite amongst collectors and youtubers. it is almost one-coat. if you see it, do not hesitate. "most sinful" #1607 (sinfulshine) this polish has a sinful colors counterpart: "endless blue." both are identical, beautiful, one-coat blue cremes. the difference in quality is minimal, but i have heard that "most sinful" is slightly shinier. if you want to save a buck, go with "endless blue." "cheshire china" #1717 (porcelain matte collection) omg. this very pale dusty cool lilac pops on the nail. it is stunning and a happy polish to have in your collection. i am not sure how readily available it is in stores now, as it was part of a limited edition collection. if you can still find it in your local drug store, let me know. i may need a backup. "i klove u" #2083 (trend matters velvet-kylie jenner demi-matte) another limited edition collection polish, this dark red-leaning brown with gold shimmer is pretty amazing and definitely worth owning if you can find it. i happened to pick this one up at dollar tree this past spring. "lavender" #1007 honorable mention
this is such a great polish, i couldn't leave it out. it is essentially a darker version of "blue la la" but amazing in it's own right. amazing formula. there is something really special about this polish. happy drugstore hunting, bitches. thanks for reading.
