one and lonelys. i saw this tag going around the youtube. i checked my collection and found that i had quite a few of these polishes: only one from a certain brand. some of these polishes are among my favorites. interesting that i only own one ... "noir rouge" catrice noir lacquer some of the "one and lonely" polishes are from my spainish haul. i would own more of these polishes if they were readily available in the u.s. this deep wine creme from catrice was a must-have while on vacation. looks black in most lighting. i love me some dark-business this time of year. frida kahlo from republic nail (cannot find the name) this hot-pink-leaning red creme has a terrific formula. i found this polish a couple of years ago at cvs. i bought this for the lovely packaging. i understand that this brand has lipsticks and perhaps other cosmetics in a collection under the "frida kahlo" name. i want more of these polishes, but have only found a hot pink and a putty color. i already own several of those shades, so i haven't invested in any more from "frida." do i recommend this polish? yas. do i need more of this brand? probably. i wish i had cause to go to cvs more often, but sadly, their nail polish selection is typically not as good as walgreens. why don't these polishes have names? if you know, send me a message. "cathy" aengland, "wuthering heights" collection hey, did you know that there is a bbc version of "wuthering heights" with tom hardy as heathcliff from just a few years ago? i've seen the first half. it's not horrible, but the film quality reminds me a bit of a soap opera - which is a turn-off. i wish i owned more aengland polishes, but with foreign indie polishes, i gotta be *totally* hook-line-and-sinker before i can lay out that much cash for an order. (which is why i still don't own any pretty serious polishes). i got this as a birthday gift 2016, and i directed my hubs to live love polish for the order. it was a very special treat. reviews tell me that all polishes in aengland's "wuthering heights" collection are solid-as-a-rock. "cathy" appeared to be the most my jam. good investment. "white russian" nyx nail lacquer in my spanish haul blog, i expressed the glee of finding a stand-alone nyx cosmetics store in madrid. it was humid and crowded, but worth the crush to get in and see these terrific polishes. should i have bought more? of course. this polish cannot boast the best formula in my collection, but it's okay to work with for a lighter shade. "cherry clafoutis" astor quick and shine this polish boasts a 45 second dry time. it did dry kinda fast, but not in less than a minute. another spanish gem, the red creme leans a bit orange. very good formula, but i am not reaching for a reddy orange shade as often as i thought. "leather skinnies" revlon and "blue de nime" bourjois 1-second gel effect i just featured these two in my september favorites blog. Terrific formulas, terrific polishes. I owned another of the revlon leather cuir line, but i de-stashed it, as the texture appeared differently than "leather skinnies" ... kind of unflattering. I bought the bourjois polish overseas and I cannot find these polishes in the states. "blushing crystal" mineral fusion a vegan nail lacquer available at whole foods. pretty good formula and pretty sweet opaque coral-leaning-pink creme. every time i hit whole foods, i search these polishes, but often find a lack of variety. if "blushing crystal" is any indicator of quality from this brand, my bet is that the formulas are generally terrific. "B52" alissa picked up this deep, warm-brown creme at a bodega in basque-country in spain. its a typical discount brand sold mostly to children (i think). my hubs thought i should try it out. the formula is not good, but i do like the resulting color. also, such a cute, little bottle. "wondrous" kokie featured in my oregon haul blog from a couple of months ago. this italian brand is found at some walmart stores in the u.s. (none near me, of course). "leo" ncla lovely, nudey, "leo." i picked this up at a marshalls near me ... if i see anymore ncla's i will snatch them up without a second thought. "in the pacific" moonshine mani great new indie brand from youtuber, pheobe moon. love her and love this dupe for sally hansen's original "pacific blue." like many indie brands, she focuses on what the main-stream brands will not: holographic polishes, glitters, duo and multi-chromes, etc. i respect indie designers taking those risks, but they are not truly my style, thus i only own this creme. love the formula and the shade. i own sally hansen's "pacific blue" now and yet, i reach for this one more often. "wet cement" wet n' wild megalast
why don't i have more ww-megas in my collection? because the ones i find at my local drugstores are boring and picked over. many a reviewer and youtuber praise polishes from this line, but i can never find the specific ones they talk up. this was a rare moment when i found a gem. "wet cement" is probably readily available where you live ... but for me, it was a unicorn hunt.
